Classic Windows Update UI in Windows 10

In Windows 10, Microsoft has slimmed down the Control Panel and relocated many of the system settings to the new Settings menu. For example, if one wants to configure Windows Update settings then the only solution is to go to Start >Settings Update & security > Windows Update

When compared to its predecessors, the new Windows Update UI is pretty limited in terms of available settings, but fortunately there exist a simple registry tweak to get the classic Windows Update UI back in the Control Panel

Warning: This feature has been permanently removed from Windows 10 in the Threshold2update (build 10586).

Display Windows Update Option in Windows 10 Control Panel
Open the Registry Editor and go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\WindowsUpdate\UX

Double click on IsConvergedUpdateStackEnabled and change its value to:

0: Switch to the classic Windows Update UI (Control Panel > Windows Update
1: Switch to the default Window Update UI.

Click on OK to save your changes and close the Registry Editor. Head to the Control Panel > All Control Panel Items > Windows Update.
