iPhone 6 to hit stores in 2014 -

Have already though about what the next iPhone would be like? Will it have a wider screen? Will Apple make it even thinner than the iPhone 5? Well, it may take longer for us to know exactly what the iPhone 6 is like. Contrary to rumours of a June 2013 release, numerous reports are now implying that the iPhone 6 may hit the stores in 2014. This is after Jefferies analyst Peter Misek said that certain issues may delay the release. Below are some of the issues that Misek discussed.

App Processor

Currently, the iPhone App Processor is at 32nm. For the iPhone 6, Apple may bring it up a notch to 20nm. This enables them to add more cores and make processes run faster. The possible delay stems from the designer and manufacturer of the new processor since 32nm may take more time to perfect.
A more powerful processor allows more processes to be performed at the same time. If you would notice, running many applications at the same time can slow the system. Sometimes, in order to accommodate an application that requires more RAM, users are forced to stop even background applications. With a more powerful processor, this should no longer be a problem. You can now run your video player without the need to shut down your running Twitter or RingCentral application. This way, even in the middle of the movie, you can quickly check your latest tweet mentions and voicemail messages.
New Operating System
Apple may also be taking its time working on a new and improved operating system that may debut in the iPhone 6. This can include better synchronisation with iCloud and other related services.
An improved operating system will not only make the system more efficient but also more sophisticated. Interface is one of the weaker sides of Apple vis-à-vis Samsung. Whether the iPhone 6 will have a new face, we still do not know. However, doesn’t a new colour scheme just excite you?
On-Cell OLED Display
Analysts think that the display upgrade is the main cause of the possible delay of the iPhone 6. Currently, the iPhone 5 has an in-cell LCD which many speculate will be upgraded to on-cell LCD. The shift is believed to be a necessity as the iPhone 6 is presumed to have a 4.8” display.  To those who are not familiar to the term “on-cell”, it is a different type of touchscreen technology.
The improved display not only enhances viewing capabilities, it may also affect the response of the device to touch. Since the device is entirely operated by touch (except the home button), the improved sensitivity can revolutionize the experience entirely. Now who’s up some Temple Run 2?
Aside from the iPhone, rumours are also heating up for the anticipated fifth generation iPad, or iPad 5. This is after Apple new site 9to5Mac received unconfirmed images of what looks like a stretched iPad mini, but is smaller than the original size. The iPad 5 is expected to be released in the first half of 2013.
Admit it or not, you are curious to know about the possible features of the iPhone 6. Unfortunately, we may have to wait a little longer before our curiosity is quenched. And as before, we can expect more speculations to surface as the release date comes to a close. But on the bright side, you can view these delays as an advantage because you’ll have more time to save for the iPhone 6.
