How to Sync Photos to an iPhone

The Apple iPhone allows you to easily sync music, videos and applications using the included iTunes software. You can also use iTunes to sync your digital photographs. The process is slightly different than the music and video-syncing process, because whereas iTunes syncs most media from its own library, the program will require you to sync your photos using a secondary program or folder on your computer.

Things You'll Need

Computer
  • iPhone USB sync cable

  • iTunes software

Instructions
    1
Create a folder for your photos. You can create a custom folder on your computer, or you can use your computer's default "Pictures" or "My Pictures" folder, which Mac users will find inside the "Home" folder, and Windows users inside the "My Documents" folder. Mac users can also just use the "iPhoto" software (Macintosh HD > Applications > iPhoto) to store photos, instead of a folder. As a note to Mac users, the "Home" folder will not actually read "Home," but will read as the unique name you gave to your computer, along with an image of a house. Find it inside your main "Macintosh HD" folder.
      2
Drag photos from your computer hard drive onto your chosen photo folder or program. Include any photos that you want to sync to your iPhone.
      3
Connect your iPhone to your computer. Connect the large end of the iPhone USB cable to the dock on the bottom of your iPhone, and connect the small end to any available USB port (indicated by the three-pointed trident symbol) on your computer.
        4
Open iTunes. If using Windows, you can locate the program on your "Start" menu in the lower left corner of your desktop. If using Mac, open your main "Macintosh HD" folder on your desktop and click "Applications." Inside you will find your iTunes software.
          5
Click the "iPhone" icon in iTunes. It appears in the left column, directly beneath the "Devices" heading, and features a small image of an iPhone.
            6
Click the "Photos" tab, which appears along the top of your iTunes window.
              7
Check the box that reads "Sync Photos From ...". Click the box once to add a check mark. Click the menu to the right and select the folder or program where you stored the photos that you want to sync. The software will then automatically begin the syncing process.
